Cloud Engineering

Cloud platforms that are fast to ship on, and boring to run.

Architecture, migration, infrastructure as code, CI/CD and cost optimization on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.

The problem

Why this is hard

Most cloud environments were never designed. They grew. A proof of concept became production, a second region was added in a hurry, and a set of manual changes turned into tribal knowledge. The result is familiar: deployments people are nervous about, invoices nobody can fully explain, and environments that cannot be rebuilt.

We fix that without a big-bang rewrite. We start from what you actually run, make it reproducible and observable, and then improve it one measurable step at a time: faster deploys, fewer incidents, lower spend.

Capabilities

What we do

Architecture & modernization

Right-sized designs for your scale today, with clear paths for the next 10x. Monolith decomposition only where it earns its keep.

Migration

Data center or cross-cloud moves planned workload by workload, with rollback plans and minimal downtime.

Infrastructure as code

Every environment reproducible from version control with Terraform, OpenTofu, Pulumi or CDK. No more snowflake servers.

CI/CD & developer platforms

Pipelines that make shipping several times a day safe, with preview environments, automated checks and progressive rollouts.

Observability & reliability

Logs, metrics and traces that answer real questions. SLOs, useful alerts and incident runbooks your on-call engineers will thank you for.

Cost optimization

Find and remove waste in compute, storage, data transfer and licensing. Then set up the guardrails that keep it from coming back.

Engagements

Typical ways to start

2–3 weeks

Cloud cost & architecture audit

A read-only review of your accounts and architecture. You get a prioritized report of savings, risks and quick wins.

2–6 months

Platform build or migration

We design and build the target platform, migrate workloads in waves, and leave your team fully in control.

Monthly

Embedded platform engineer

A senior engineer joins your team to own infrastructure work and level up everyone around them.

What you get

  • Architecture diagrams and decision records
  • Infrastructure as code in your repository
  • CI/CD pipelines and environment strategy
  • Dashboards, alerts and runbooks
  • Cost report with tracked savings

FAQ

Cloud Engineering questions

Which cloud provider do you recommend?

The one that fits your team, your existing contracts and your workload. All three major clouds are excellent. We have no reseller agreements, so our advice is not tied to a vendor.

Do we need Kubernetes?

Often not. Many products run better and cheaper on managed containers, serverless or a few well-run VMs. We recommend Kubernetes when its operational cost is clearly justified.

How much can we typically save on cloud spend?

It depends on how the environment grew. Accounts that have never been optimized often have significant waste in idle resources, oversized instances and forgotten storage. The audit gives you a concrete number before you commit to anything.

Will our team be able to run it after you leave?

That is the goal. Everything is in code, documented, and handed over through pairing sessions. We do not build platforms only we can operate.
